The UNIMAS American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site is pleased to announce its latest course offerings for the second half of 2018.

UNIMAS is an official training site that offers the following AHA Courses:

• Courses for Healthcare Professionals:
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course for Healthcare Providers
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course
• Courses for Non-Medically Trained Personnel:
  • AHA Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR & AED Provider Course

Enrolled participants will receive the official AHA course package upon registration. Participants who successfully fulfill the assessment (written and skills testing) requirements of the course will be awarded with an AHA provider status which is internationally recognized and valid for 2-years.

All courses will be conducted by AHA certified instructors in the Clinical Simulation Centre, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Kota Samarahan Campus. The training facility is fully equipped with simulators of varying fidelity levels to ensure our participants are fully immersed in the training programmes.

Objectives

The objectives of the conference are as follows:

1. To promote and disseminate scientific research in the social, biological and medical sciences in Borneo;

2. To enable the research community, public, interested Borneo government departments, and others to keep abreast of ongoing research and its results;

3. To serve as a vehicle for drawing attention to urgent research and its results;

4. To provide a forum for the flow of information on Borneo research arising from many diverse sources;

The Conference will be held on campus at Detar Putra, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Kota Samarahan, Sarawak, Malaysia.

This will be a multidisciplinary conference dealing specifically with Borneo, with plenary sessions and sessions devoted to special topics and panels including but not limited to the following fields:

Majlis Konvokesyen UNIMAS ke-22 akan diadakan di DeTAR PUTRA, UNIMAS selama 3 hari mulai 29 hingga 31 Oktober 2018. Festival Konvokesyen atau lebih dikenali sebagai ConFest yang diadakan pada setiap tahun sempena Majlis Konvokesyen UNIMAS, bertujuan untuk memeriahkan sambutan Majlis Konvokesyen. Sehubungan itu dilampirkan jadual program ConFest 2018 untuk makluman bersama warga UNIMAS.

Untuk makluman juga  Perasmian Festival Konvokesyen @ ConFest 2018 akan diadakan pada 27 Oktober 2018 (Sabtu) bermula jam 7.30 malam bertempat di Pentas Utama UNIMAS. Semua warga UNIMAS adalah dijemput untuk sama-sama menyaksikan Malam Citrawarna dan memeriahkan lagi majlis perasmian tersebut.

Aktiviti-aktiviti ConFest2018 juga telah bermula sejak 19 Oktober sehingga 3 November 2018. Turut dilampirkan beberapa poster untuk rujukan bersama. Keterangan lanjut mengenai Confest2018 juga boleh dirujuk di laman rasmi Facebook UNIMASofficial atau UNIMAS Convocation Festival-Confest.

TTC, UNIMAS and UCTS proudly present you — Ideathon 2018. Featuring themes such as e-Education, e-Agriculture, e-Health, e-Tourism, e-Disaster Management, e-Environment Management, e-Traffic Management and Smart City, we invite you (min 2 to max 4 members in a group) to participate in a 2-day hackathon, to find problems and construct solutions in these theme areas, applying the use of Internet of Things (IoT). KOTA SAMARAHAN, 29 April 2019 – Sebagai usaha menyemarakkan program membaca, Pusat Khidmat Maklumat Akademik telah mengambil inisiatif menganjurkan Program Cinta Ilmu selama dua hari bermula 29 April lepas sebagai menyokong Read@UNIMAS dan menarik minat membaca dan memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS.

Objektif program adalah untuk menyemarakkan semangat membaca dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS,memupuk kecintaan kepada ilmu pengetahuan, menggalakkan kempen menderma buku dalam kalangan warga UNIMAS serta meningkatkan kesedaran budaya membaca di kalangan masyarakat.

Antara aktiviti diadakan seperti gimik perasmian, Jom Baca 10 minit, Read Out Loud  yang dilakukan oleh tiga orang pelajar dari sekolah SK St. Martin, SK Empila dan SK Dato Mohd Musa Samarahan, persembahan nyanyian oleh Adik Sofia Arissa, Read and Write with Emerald, pameran dan jualan buku dan cenderahati, jualan makanan dan minuman (food truck)Yakub

Istimewanya Program Cinta Ilmu kali ini turut dihadiri oleh  Miss Planet International 2019, Cik Viviana Lin Watson,19, yang telah mewakili Malaysia ke peringkat antarabangsa untuk Miss Planet International pada 1 Mac 2019 di Cambodia dan telah merangkul anugerah 2nd runner up Miss Planet International 2019 bersandarkan minat membaca yang mendalam dan mempunyai pengetahuan am yang luas.

Faculty of Engineering, UNIMAS:  On 27^th October 2018, Students Section of IEM-SAFE, Faculty of Engineering, have organised A Day with The Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) programme as part of their E-Week activities. In this programme, a speaker from the committee of IEM Sarawak Branch Graduate and Students Section, Ir. Edna Matthew Ruji, was invited to give a talk on ‘The Privileges and Advantages of Registering under IEM and BEM (Board of Engineers Malaysia)’ at Lecture Hall Pusat Islam Tun Abang Salahuddin, UNIMAS. A total of 320 students from different departments of Engineering Faculty, UNIMAS attended the talk. The main objective of this annual programme was to expose UNIMAS first year engineering students on the career as engineer as well was to introduce them on IEM activities. Also attending the programme was Mr. Mohd Azrin bin Mohd Said, UNIMAS's IEM-SAFE Advisor.

Serian: On 20th October 2018, Students sections of IEM-SAFE, Faculty of Engineering, have organised an event named as Kampung Life 2.0 for two days and one night as one of the association activities in E-Week 2018 at Kampung Tebakang Melayu, Serian. This event was open to all UNIMAS students in which 26 students participated. A lot of fun activities were held with the cooperation from the villagers such as gotong-royong around Kampung Tebakang, traditional sports and games competition, as well as cooking traditional foods together with the villagers. The main objective of this event was to expose the students on local village life as well as providing the platform for the students to engage themselves in charity work.

The aim of this certification programme is to provide managerial level personnel (Managers,Supervisors, potential Supervisors, and Professional Level Staff) with skills and knowledge required to effectively carry out their responsibilities. The programme develops a personal awareness of the human resources, activities, and management issues involved in achieving results in a challenging and dynamic work environment.

The programme further focuses on developing skills through practical activities such as structured exercises, group discussions, and case studies. It concentrates on the leadership actions for developing a team but also includes the key management skills of decision making, problem solving, performance analysis, conflict management, motivation and presentation.
