KUCHING: Members of the Unimas Women’s Association (Masnita) were told to work together for the benefit of the association, and to reach its goal and contribute back to community.

Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi said an association would not succeed if its members did not work as a team.

Alluding to the recent Covid-19 pandemic, he said it was an example of what the community could do together if united, and they were able to help everyone regardless of position, colour and creed.

“The Covid-19 pandemic can be used as a role model for members of organisations and associations. In any matter, cooperation is important if we want to achieve success in the future.

“Without cooperation, it is certainly impossible to achieve something,” said Prof Kadim when officiating the launch of the Masnita Management Information System (Manis) at the campus yesterday.

He praised Masnita for the unity among its members through the activities held over the years and hoped the association becomes an example to others, encouraging the participation of female Unimas staff in the future.

Earlier, Prof Kadim launched the Masnita Manis system, developed by the varsity to store membership records of the association.

At the ceremony, he presented a personal contribution to Masnita amounting to RM5,000.

Masnita also held an annual general meeting and doled out gifts to children of members who excelled in the UPSR, PT3 and SPM 2019 examinations.
