KUCHING: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) Leadership Centre chairman Prof Datuk Mohd Fadzil Abdul Rahman has been appointed as the university’s Assistant Vice Chancellor (Development and Leadership).
In announcing this, Unimas vice chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi said the appointment will be for a period of two years from July 1 until June 30, 2022.
“In his new role, Fadzil will be involved in the physical development as well as the maintenance aspect of the university.
“The leadership and the human capital aspect will also be under his supervision, especially programmes implemented by the Unimas Leadership Centre,” he said in a Facebook post yesterday.
Fadzil, who was formerly Deputy Vice Chancellor for student affairs and alumni, has been with the university for more than two decades.
He started out as lecturer and moved up to become the Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts Dean before being the Dean of the varsity’s Student Development Centre.
He was appointed as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) from 2008, a post that he held until January 2020 after he was succeeded by Prof Dr Kamarudin Kana.
