KOTA SAMARAHAN, 9 August 2017: The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU) between Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) was held today at Kuching.

This MoU recognizes the potential value of such synergistic collaborations in utilizing expertise and data collected by both parties to support language documentation and preservation in this region.

The agreement highlight the common approach to increase strategic focus and cooperation between UNIMAS and DBP in planning long-term research projects and publication of books documenting the language and literature of different communities in Sarawak.

The MoU signed by UNIMAS Vice Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Dr Mohamad Kadim bin Suaidi and Dean, Faculty of Language and Communication UNIMAS, Professor Dr Ambigapathy a/l Pandian while DBP represented by DBP Director-General, Datuk Haji Abdul Adzis bin Abas and Deputy Director-General (Policy), Datuk Haji Abang Sallehuddin bin Abg Shokeran.
