KOTA SAMARAHAN, 4 July 2017 : Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) today to build a great partnership and friendly relations between the Parties.

The ceremony was held in Pullman Hotel and attended by Sarawak Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg.

UNIMAS was represented by Vice Chancellor, Professor Dato' Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi while BEM was represented by President BEM, Dato’ Sri Ir. Dr Roslan Md Taha.

Under this collaboration, both Parties has agreed to facilitate the registration of the new graduates from UNIMAS, considering the positive results of registering all new graduate engineer, graduate technologist and technician from UNIMAS with BEM , together contribute to the enhancement of engineering education and the profession and to the economic and social development of Malaysia.

Also, UNIMAS will receive a sum of RM10,000 for five years from BEM to be awarded to outstanding engineering graduates on convocation day.

At the same function, BEM also signed the same MoU with University College of Technology Sarawak (UCTS), Curtin University Malaysia, Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus.

Chairman UNIMAS Board of Director, Dato’ Hatta Solhi, Director of Public Works and Ir.Haji Zuraimi Haji Sabki were also present at the ceremony.
