Drawing : Discourse Beyond Understanding is a first exhibition collaboration between two education institutes which are (Faculty of Applied & Creative Arts) UNIMAS and (Faculty of Art & Design) UiTM in conjuction with the celebration of 25 years of commitment towards excellence, UNIMAS. This exhibition will be filled with varieties of education activities such as Art Talk by the Artists, as well as demonstrations and workshops on Drawing for Schools.

About Drawing :

Drawing or sketches is a basic knowledge in various fields such as visual arts, architecture, industrial design, textile and fashion, graphics, and more. The importance of this knowledge and skill cannot be denied in the visual world. Sometimes sketches alone have the potential to be developed as artwork for an exhibition. However, the drawing itself must be given an added value and viewed from different angles. Thus, 'DRAWING' is an exhibition that displays inconventional artwork in a conventional space where the interpretation of 'drawing' is no longer subjected to the use of the medium of pencil, charcoal, pen and so on. It is more towards a discussion or dialogue on the revolutioned medium according to the interpretation and understanding of the artist. However, Drawing in this context is the result of interpretation of various disciplines such as photography, video, sculpture installation, digital art, and others. The aim of this exhibition is to provide unconventional defnition for drawing which is not only produced from point to point, but it's more to exploring various mediums in order to form line, shadow, shape, etc. accordingly to the interpretation and perception of each artist. The exhibition will provide a comprehensive and wide understanding of artistic practice towards contemporary sketch.

It also serves as a platform for alternative practice in contemporary sketching.

Our Objectives are as follows :

1. Express ideas and sketches concept in different perspectives (unconventional).

2. To encourage university collaborative program and artistic activities between Faculty of Applied & Creative Arts UNIMAS & Faculty

of Art & Design, UiTM Kota Samarahan.

3. To expose students from both university and the nearby community to real art exhibition which covers the domain of art appreciation and discourse activities.
