Brief Summary:

Borneo Business Research Week (BBRW) is one-week workshop using mentor-mentee program. Two to Three participants will be assigned to a mentor, who are professors in Business and Economics studies.

Theme:  Promise and Peril of Management Studies in Digital Era

 

Outcome:

All participants will have comprehensive understanding about business and economics research and personal research plan. Participants have to submit their revised manuscript to reputable journal within three months after the workshop.

Fees and Accommodation:

Participants will not pay anything to join BBRW, where accommodation and meals during the stay are covered by the organizer. Participants from outside Sarawak Malaysia only need to pay their flight ticket, while pick-up service from and to airport will be provided by the organizer.

 

Objectives:

  1. To introduce the doctoral students and early career researchers to the fundamental information about developing research in Business & Economics studies and its current issues
  2. To strengthen the skills and knowledge of doctoral students and early career researchers in publishing scientific research findings in top journals.
  3. To enable doctoral students and early career researchers to acquire the essentials of scientific writing (style, organization, structure).
  4. To strengthen the capability of doctoral students and early career researchers in communicating their research works to academia world and industry.

Venue: Faculty of Economics and Business Universiti Malaysia Sarawak

 

Target Audience: Doctoral Students, Early Career Academics (first three years of an appointment)

Criteria: 

 

1.      Doctoral students or early career academician

2.      Personal Statement about Future Research Plan in Digital Economy (e.g., Digital marketing, gig economy, law and governance, blockchain, fintech, macroeconomy factor, competition, sharia complaint in future business, strategic business, disruptive innovation, etc)

3.      Evidence of posting IBBC poster in personal FB page (https://www.facebook.com/International-Borneo-Business-Conference-2018-1921113324873236/?modal=composer¬if_id=1526393061213504¬if_t=aymt_make_page_post_tip&ref=notif )

4.      Your research interest is management studies
