    His Excellency Victor Samuel Ngele

    7 April 2016 - The High Commissioner of Solomon Highlands, His Excellency Victor Samuel Ngele paid a courtesy visit to UNIMAS today. The visit is the first by Solomon Islands to UNIMAS, and it is intended to establish a relationship with the university, particularly for undergraduate studies opportunities and other relevant academic collaborations.

    Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) Prof Mohd Fadzil Abdul Rahman welcomed His Excellency Victor Samuel Ngele and chaired the discussion. During the session, His Excellency exchanged a lot of ideas with Faculty Deans and other representatives. His Excellency Victor Samuel Ngele was also given a campus tour by the UNIMAS International team led by Assoc Prof Dr Souba Rethinasamy

    UNIMAS looks forward to receiving students from Solomon Islands and to work together on mutually beneficial collaborations in the near future.

    KOTA SAMARAHAN, 11 April 2016 : The Faculty of Resource Science and Technology (FSTS), UNIMAS today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with My Innovation Hub (MyInnoHub) for a greater collaboration in Sago research. The memorandum was signed by Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs & Alumni), Prof Mohd Fadzil Abdul Rahman on behalf of UNIMAS and Chief Executive Officer of MyInnoHub, Vincent Wong Wai Sang from MyInnoHub. It was also witnessed by the Dean of Faculty of Resource Science and Technology, Assoc. Prof Dr Othman Bojo and Chief Executive Officer of Regal International Group, Dato’ Dominic Su.

     

    In his welcoming speech, Professor Mohd Fadzil highlighted the strong interest in Sago research which have been pursued by UNIMAS researchers at the Faculty of Resource Science and Technology, and that he was pleased that MyInnoHub was keen to collaborate with the university, based on an initial presentation conducted by the team on the 29th of February 2016.

     

    The MoU with MyInnoHub focuses on two UNIMAS research products; first is the research on Sago from upstream plantation, harvesting and processing till downstream glucose production, sound absorber and others; the second is on research on road construction ...

    KOTA SAMARAHAN, 16th May 2017 : More than 100 participants from various schools in the Southern Zone had attended Training and Industrial Awareness Program (TRIA) at UNIMAS on 14 – 15 May 2017 organized by The Workforce Development Unit (WDU), Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Bumiputera Sarawak (TEGAS) and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).

    TRIA at UNIMAS was initially officiated by UNIMAS Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs & Alumni), YBhg Prof Mohd Fadzil Abdul Rahman at CAIS Auditorium and also attended by respective faculty leaders on STEM related programs.

    The purpose of this program is to create training and industrial awareness among students by connecting school, institution and industry. The objectives of the program are:

    • To reach out, create awareness and develop interest in TVET & STEM

    • To familiarize students with STEM-related courses, institutions and career pathways that matches Sarawak’s industrial needs

    • To expose students to relevant industries and the different career opportunities that exist in the particular field

    • To mentor, inspire and empower Form 3 students to make more informed decision about post PT3 training and education

    • To support partner institutions in their promotion and recruitment efforts

    Kota Samarahan, 16 March 2018: The MOU signing between Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and Malaysia Pepper Board (MPB) marks another milestone in effort to engage partnership and collaboration between Universities and Industries. Represent UNIMAS, was the Vice Chancellor YBhg Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi while for MPB was represented by Director General YBhg Dr Harry Entebang. UNIMAS has always strived to seek research collaboration with industries and always open doors to beneficial alliances that benefitted both the people and the country. This collaboration provides a win-win situation for Malaysia Pepper Board and UNIMAS in quest for new discovery and knowledge. The knowledge gained from the partnership activities will hopefully benefit our human capital development, economic and the community at large. The signing of this is very timely as the state government is charting activities towards digital economy. With this collaboration, both UNIMAS and MPB can offer their expertise to elevate knowledge and technical know-how in modern agriculture and techniques based on futuristic technology such as the Internet of Things and Big Data Analytics.     KOTA SAMARAHAN, 21 Mac 2019 – Pusat Perancangan Strategik, Pengurusan Kualiti dan Risiko (SQRC) telah menganjurkan Bengkel Transisi MS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 selama dua hari bermula 20 hingga 21 Mac 2019 bertempat di Bilik Multimedia, Pusat Islam Tun Abang Salahuddin (PITAS).

    Bengkel adalah bertujuan untuk memberikan kefahaman berkaitan transisi dokumen dari versi 2005 ke versi baharu MS ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

    Seramai 20 orang staf terdiri daripada staf sokongan teknikal, Pegawai Sains dan Pensyarah Fakulti Kejuruteraan (FK) serta staf daripada Fakulti Sains dan Teknologi Sumber (FSTS) yang terlibat dalam Skim Akreditasi Makmal Malaysia (SAMM) menyertai bengkel ini.
    Penceramah bagi bengkel ini adalah Pn Rosnieh Eggat, Penolong Pengarah Kanan, Seksyen Akreditasi Jabatan Standard Malaysia.
